What do you call a bearded, tattooed, power-radiating, dead-raising, grace-empowered, coffee-loving, God-chasing biker?
Todd Bentley.
Welcome to Revival in torn jeans and a lion heart.
Todd Bentley is not your everyday, just-another-brick-in-the-wall kind of preacher. He is, to put it mildly, a riot. A Spirit-filled riot. Born in Canada in a troubled household, he was brought up by his deaf mother once his father walked out on them. Growing up amidst lack, violence and drugs, it didn’t take long for him to turn to crime. But at the age of 19, after another near-fatal drug overdose, he heard the voice of God tell him he was fast running out of time. He decided to then change his mind and live for God. Soon after, he was given leadership of the Fresh Fire Ministry group which eventually became a revival movement. He fronted the Lakeland Revival that took the United States and most of the world by storm for a few months.
Todd and his team were invited to minister in India late November, this year. They started off in Mumbai, went on to Hyderabad and wound up in Bangalore before flying back home. The meetings in Hyderabad were held on the 1st and 2nd of December, hosted by Pastor Shyam Kishore of JCNM and backed by Rev. Tony Abraham.
On the first evening, Todd spoke about his life and the goodness of God. His message was punctuated with pointed statements such as “Grace will find you where you are, but will never leave you where you are.” He spoke on God’s bountiful love, the beauty of His holiness and the miraculous consequences of man’s obedience. He then went on to demonstrate the Word with healings.
